From Kurzras over the Hungerschart lakes to the summit

From Kurzras (2011 m) on path 4 on the western valley slope in about 15 minutes downhill to Wieshof (2001 m, farm tavern; the route can also start here), continue on path 4 through forest slopes with only slight ascent into the Lagauntal (2170 m) and in switchbacks over stone-strewn grassy slopes steeply up to Taschljöchl (2772 m; here a massive emergency shelter); about 3 hours from Kurzras. Now on the unmarked but clearly visible slope path in a level, partly slightly exposed traverse of the steep slopes westwards, then briefly downhill to the Lower (2713 m) and in a few minutes up to the Upper Hungerschart lake (2778 m). From Taschljöchl half an hour. Now from the east shore of the lake on the footpath first gently ascending to a saddle and then westwards over the broad mountain ridge on the path marked by cairns here, easily up to the summit area and, at a fork in the path, keeping left, easily to the highest point (3115 m; 1 hour from the upper lake). – Descent: via the described
