From Bleiberg-Kreuth we hike up the wide forest road eastwards under the avalanche barriers. At the fork we turn left (barriers). In the next bend, we leave the road and follow a steep path in the stone pine forest across roots and partly over eroded sandy-scree steps up to a rest area at a mining gallery. We now follow the narrow and partly quite steep path through the mountain forest east of the Sattlergraben. A eroded, sandy gully edge must be crossed somewhat exposed on a narrow sandy path. Then it goes steeply upwards in short switchbacks and finally in a flatter but fairly exposed traverse to the saddle (“Zeber”) at 1480m between Sattlernock and Zebernock. On a wooded ridge we climb to the left to the insignificant Zebernock. Then an easy descent to a saddle before the rocky East Ridge of the Kobesnock. Several rock steps with grassy connecting ridges lead now to the main summit of the Kabesnock. Two ridge knobs are partly roped and climbed somewhat exposed over jagged rock steps, two rock spikes on the north side (past the “Kalten Loch”, a large rock window), one on the south side is bypassed in steep grass. The last jagged rock steps then lead to the large summit cross with guestbook and rest benches.
The West Ridge leads considerably easier over few jagged rocks down to the summit saddle. After the small subpeak it goes into the moderately steep, wooded west slope. Keeping left, we reach the pasture area of the managed Wertschacheralm. Here we turn left into the Schneidergraben. A pleasant forest path "Naturfreundesteig" leads without problems in the west flank of the gully down to a forest road. A small erosion slope must be crossed somewhat more carefully and roped. On the road two bends down to a signpost, then left into a hollow way that crosses a stream gully. Now it goes in the woods in slight ups and downs along the wide path to the pastures near Mauer. Here we turn left and follow the signposts "Theresienhof". We emerge at a farm onto a paved road, at the next fork we turn left and return above residential houses to the road junction at the starting point.
