The Kassianspitze offers a view of the Eisacktal valley and the surrounding mountains that is second to none. The mountain tour leads over wonderful alpine slopes and through beautiful larch and pine forests. It is not difficult, but surefootedness is a prerequisite.
The tour begins at the Steineben car park (tobogganing meeting point) above Latzfons. Follow the signs to the "Klausner Hütte" hut, first on the toboggan run, then on a forest trail up to the hut. From the Klausner hut (1923 m) the trail leads to the Latzfonser Kreuz cross, where there is a pilgrimage church and an inn. You now continue hiking westwards and turn right onto trail no. 17. Passing a beautiful but almost hidden mountain lake, you come to the mountain saddle. There you go up to the right to the Kassianspitze. The way back is along the same route.
