From the parking lot, follow the signpost to Wuhrsteinalm, then turn right into Karlwinkel. In the Karlalm area, at a fork take the barely marked left path. Over a short steep section onto a ridge, then follow the signs to the right to Karkopf 1510 m. From here, slightly downhill into the hollow, then the ascent to Breitenstein follows. From there to Geigelstein 1808 m. is also well signposted. From the summit, descend about 150 m again, then left over Wirtsalm, Wuhrsteinalm back to the starting point.
