We climb the Höfats, which lies south of Oberstdorf between the Oytal and the Dietersbach Valley. The grassy mountain is regarded as a symbol of the Allgäu Alps and is also known for its distinctive alpine flora. Our path leads through a long river valley and over narrow, winding trails up to the four almost equally high summits of the Höfats, which give the mountain its characteristic appearance. They are divided into two pairs of summits, separated by deep cols. Steep grassy and rocky slopes make the route very demanding, especially since there are often no or insufficient anchors. Therefore, the route is reserved exclusively for experienced mountaineers.
