The starting point of this varied mountain route is at the Giebelhaus in the Ostrach valley, which we can easily reach from Hinterstein by bus. From there, it goes along the Bärgündelebach into the valley of the same name. From the unmanaged Pointhütte, we walk up a narrow hiking trail to the Lower Bärgündele Alp. A break on the sun terrace here is worthwhile. From there, the path continues uphill to the Prinz Luitpold House, where we can spend the night. From the shelter, we then follow a narrow, well-marked path through a barren scree landscape continuously uphill. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required in places. At the summit of Hochvogel, we are rewarded with an incomparable view, which quickly makes us forget the effort of the ascent. After a break at the summit cross, we return to our starting point at the Giebelhaus.
