Exciting variant to Hirschberg via the west ridge (T5).
The Hirschberg in the Bregenzerwald mountains is popular with mountain bikers, since you can ride on Alp roads up to just below the summit. Less known is that the west ridge also offers a thrilling approach for climbers. The undisputed highlight of the beautiful ridge route is the rope ladder used to overcome the "Zahnlücke." Here, it gets quite airy for a short time. That the mountain is rather rarely hiked from the south side is also noticeable because the hiking path from the Lower Hirschbergalpe to the Sonnenbergvorsäss is partly quite overgrown.
