From the Hotel Pattissenhof, we take the Citybus to the Weisslahnbad parking lot. This is where our hike begins; we take Trail No. 2 toward Bärenfalle. Passing the Tschetterloch, we reach Bärenfalle after about 2 1/2 hours. We continue toward Tschafatschsattel and turn left onto Trail No. 9 toward Hammerwand. The path winds up and down over the Mittagskofel and Niggelberg. Some sections are even secured with a wire rope, so concentration and sure-footedness are very important.
It’s only another 10 minutes to the next intersection and the Hammerwand. The highest point of the hike is above the Hammerwand at 2,128 meters. From here, you can already see the summit cross, and you descend to the Hammerwand at 1,985 meters. At the summit cross, a wonderful view opens up over the valley and the surrounding mountains. The impressive mountain scenery invites you to enjoy the beauty of nature and experience a moment of peace. The descent follows the same path back to the intersection, where we turn right until we reach the Tschafon Hut. The perfect spot for a break: the nettle-spinach omelet, the homemade juices, and the pleasant atmosphere invite you to linger.
After a short rest, we hike down the valley toward Wuhnleger (No. 4), continuing on to the St. Sebastian Plague Chapel (4B) until we reach the Pattissenhof again.
