    Roadbook

From the Gufferthütte, the route initially passes the Brandenberger Roßalm. It continues to the edge of the moor complex of the Bayerische Wildalm. The path to the Wildalm goes through a moorland, which gets a white shimmer from the cotton grass in early summer. The moor lies in a large karst basin, a so-called polje. The stream through the polje flows below the wild Lochberg into a swallow hole (ponor), where the water disappears into the mountain. Here we cross the state border into Bavaria, marked by a fence. The two alpine huts, the lower Sindelsdorfer Alm and the upper Bayerische Wildalm, are therefore located in Bavaria. The path leads north past the alpine meadows onto a plateau, where the paths of the Natura Trail (left) and toward the Halserspitze (right) split. Soon it goes in switchbacks through dwarf pines up to the Karspitz saddle (1801m). From here we follow the ridge with great views to the north (Tegernsee and Bavarian foothills) to the Halserspitz (1862m). From there you have a unique panoramic view to the south from the Chiemgau Alps over the Kaiser, Hochkönig, the Tauern with Großglockner and Großvenediger to the Zillertal Alps, the Stubai Alps, Ötztal Alps, Karwendel, Wetterstein as far as the Allgäu. The return route follows the ascent path. For those who are not yet satisfied, from the fork in the path, you can continue along the Natura Trail to the Schönleiten Alm. From there, follow the developed path until you meet the trail from Köglboden to the Gufferthütte.
