This north-south ravine offers hikers on the side slopes beautiful views towards the Koschuta massif and ends with the water adventure world Hainschgraben.
The Hainschgraben is currently closed because of severe weather!
Hiking around the Hainschgraben (approx. 16 km and 800 m elevation gain) offers wonderful views of the western mountains of the Koschuta massif, especially the Pungrat, the Skarbina and the Hainschturm. Additionally, the water adventure path Hainschgraben along the Hainschbach offers very interesting geological formations and a beautiful waterfall! Breaks and alternatives allow a pleasant introduction to this type of hiking on this easy mountain trail.

DETAILED ROUTE DESCRIPTION:
1. We start from the PP of the old elementary school in Male to the Mlecnik sawmill (E) (666 m), then turn right, south into the Hainschgraben on path no. 650. After a few meters, we turn left, east and up with the Carinthian border path (KGW) and path no. 647 (information board, slightly more pronounced path). On the steep trail, we take the 1st break after about 820 m elevation gain, and after a gentler ascent, we reach the village of Travnik – here we take the 2nd break at the 1st house, 1.4 km, 964 m.
2. Now following the KGW, a gently ascending asphalt road leads to the village of Skarbina - it then changes to a gravel road. At the junction to the southeast (with a seating area and trail signs), we take the 3rd break, 3.8 km, 1137 m – this is also the highest point of the easy mountain hike.
3. We now leave the KGW, going half right on path no. 649 downhill. We pass the Ziher farm to path no. 650 (water adventure path Hainschgraben), then go about 120 m north to the Gornik foam mill (4th break, 5.7 km, 877 m).
ALTERNATIVE 1: Hike back north along the Hainschgraben to the PP in Male/old elementary school and wait there (approx. 3 km)
4. We hike south along path no. 650 towards Hainschsattel – at the junction to Hainschbauer we continue about 150 m further to the hunting lodge (5th break, 6.6 km, 1014 m).
5. Then we return to the junction and take the path half left to Hainschbauer, then on to the farms Gornik and Mlecnik – afterwards, we take a right curve, partially steep downhill to the Hainschgraben (6th break, 11 km, 730 m).
ALTERNATIVE 2: Hike back north along the Hainschgraben to the PP in Male/old elementary school and wait there (approx. 600 m)
6. Now we follow path no. 650 south past the waterfall to the 3rd bridge – then back north along path no. 650 past the snack station Smelc (0664-5099356) – after about 300 m we reach the PP in Male/old elementary school (13.8 km, 666 m).
