Große Arnspitze

From Scharnitz station we turn left onto Innsbruckerstraße. Follow over the Isar bridge and then the signs to the climbing garden until we reach the sports field path. We pass the parking lot, the road here becomes a forest road. From here we hike through the Sattelklamm to the Hoher Sattel.

Those who prefer an easier variant can descend directly from Hoher Sattel to Leutasch and from there take the bus home.

From the Hoher Sattel we take the lower, smaller path up to the Arnspitzhütte. The hut is a self-catering hut. All information can be found on the Alpine Club's website.

From the Arnspitzhütte we ascend to the summit. To reach the main summit, climbing sections of difficulty grade I+ must be overcome. Fixing rings for rope protection are available.

After a generous rest at the summit, we begin the return journey. First we take the same path as the ascent until at about 2,000 m a junction to the left comes. We take this and hike for a while northeastwards until the path winds down towards the east and we are back in Scharnitz. Here we cross the Isar and hike back to the station.
