Through the gorge to the end of section 4, then back along section 4 to the end of section 3. Along the forest road to path no. 410 (Rupertiweg), then over to the church of St. Urbani and further down to the main road. Follow the last 5 minutes of the main road back to the starting point.
Walking time: 5 hrs.
Upon reaching the forest road, you are at the end of section 3.
You cross the forest road to enter section 4.
Section 4 starts off easy, but you immediately gain a lot of elevation. Soon there are small climbing passages. The key spot is quite exposed but secured with stirrups and a rope railing.
The climbing does not take long, but since you have to return the same way, you should not overexert yourself.
From the end of the gorge, you return along section 4 back to the forest road.
On the forest road, it takes about 50 minutes to reach the Rupertiweg junction.
Now follow the Rupertiweg no. 410 downhill. This path has steep sections that are not entirely safe. On the descent, you can make a detour to the St. Urbani church. From there, you have a view back into the gorge towards the Idawarte waterfall.
Further down the Rupertiweg, there is a new junction. Here you can choose between the new Rutitschweg no. 487, which goes steeply back to the gorge entrance, or the longer variant via the Rupertiweg and the last 500 m on the Eggeralm main road back to the gorge entrance.
