From the head of the Martell valley (2060 m; end of the main road, parking, guesthouse) always follow the signs “Rotspitze” and marker 31, first on a level road and then on a medium-steep footpath through the forest southwards up to the tree line, continue upwards on the path through grassy slopes and finally through a steep gully over boulders, scree and crags (good rope railings here for about 50 metres) up to the summit (3033 m). From the starting point 3 ½ hours – Descent: Via the ascent route.
