From Spitzingsee to the Bodenschneid

Hike with wonderful views
From the wide forest road to the rocky path, you will walk on almost all types of trails on this route. Technically, the hike is graded as moderate, but increased caution is advised when wet, especially in areas where the path runs over rock.

Roadbook
We leave our car at Spitzingsee, at the valley station of the Kurvenlift, and first follow the Kratzerweg (637a) towards Untere Firstalm. We initially reach Untere Firstalm through the forest and later with open views in about 60 minutes. By keeping right, we soon reach Suttenstein on a well-developed path. From here, we can follow the signs for Bodenschneid – first in the forest (634) and later freely on a ridge that starts wide and then becomes narrower. The magnificent views at the summit of Bodenschneid reward the efforts of the ascent. For the descent, we first choose the path towards Bodenschneidhaus (626). Before reaching it, we stay right and follow the hiking trail to Obere and Untere Firstalm (627). From here, we follow the Kratzerweg back to the starting point at Spitzingsee.

Trains of the Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) run hourly from Munich to Schliersee, from there by bus line 362 to Spitzingsattel.
