Directly on the border between Germany and Austria lies the 1,986 m high Aggenstein. From the valley station of the Breitenbergbahn, you can hike on a beautiful path to the Bad Kissinger hut. The last section to the summit is a secured climb.

Overall, this is a moderate mountain route. The Bad Kissinger hut offers a place to rest and overnight accommodation. The ascent to the summit requires sure-footedness and concentration on the secured climb. Once at the top, you have a beautiful panoramic view over the Tannheimer Mountains. On the way back, you pass the Hochalphütte below the upper station of the Breitenbergbahn. Here, there is another opportunity to rest.
