From Lavertezzo via Cap. Cornavòsa and Alpe d'Eus to Mornera
This demanding three-day hike leads from Lavertezzo in the Verzasca Valley to one of the most beautiful Ticino alpine pastures, the Alpe d'Eus, then via Capanna Borgna and the Cima dell'Uomo to the Alpe Mornera.
A white-blue-white marked trail leads from the self-catering hut Cornavòsa in the Verzasca Valley to one of the most beautiful Ticino alpine pastures – the Alpe d'Eus. This is reached quite quickly (T4, 2½ h), but the way to the Borgna hut is still far. First, an unmarked path descends 500 meters into Val Carecchio, then a marked trail ascends again 1100 meters to the Bocchetta di Rognoi. You have to cross this if you want to reach the scenic Borgna hut, which is the start or end point of the demanding alpine hiking route Via Alta della Verzasca (which also includes the Cornavòsa hut). From here on day 3, four descent options are possible: 1. As described to Alpe Mornera with a detour to Cima dell’Uomo (T3+). 2. Over Pizzo Vogorno (T3) via Alpe Bardughè (T4) to Vogorno. 3. Via Sassello, Polenmauer (T4), detour Sassariente to Vogorno or Tenero. 4. Via Alpe Mognora to Vogorno.
