The Foostock lies to the north of Piz Sardona and Piz Segans, on the cantonal border between the St. Gallen Weisstannental valley and the Glarus Sernftal valley. Whether it's because the Foostock is "in the shadow" of two mighty three-thousand-metre peaks or because there is no official route to the summit, the Foostock is an insider tip and you will mainly meet locals there. In any case, it can't be because of the view, which is impressive. There are two routes to the Foostock, which can be easily combined into a round tour if you start at Alp Walabütz at the end of the Weisstannen valley. The ascent via the Matthütten and the north ridge is recommended, as the steep and sloping terrain above the Matthütten is easier to manage on the ascent. The descent leads via a wire-rope secured path past the Foostöckli to the Foopass and back through an idyllic high valley.
