Book recommendations for this region:
Equipment
MANDATORY MOUNTAIN FOOTWEAR (boot or shoe with specific Mountain sole)
In each stage and depending on the state of the terrain and/or weather forecast, the recommended height of the footwear (boot or shoe) will be given.
CLOTHING
Since the routes take place in a mid and high mountain environment, and because this is a territory where the climate can change quickly and drastically, WE RECOMMEND the following elements regardless of the difficulty of the route:
Long pants. If the characteristics of the route along with the expected weather allow the use of shorts, a piece to cover the rest of the exposed leg will be carried, either by carrying a second pair of pants or long leggings in the backpack in all cases.
First layer: breathable and quick-drying short-sleeve t-shirt (tank tops are not recommended as they are not suitable for backpack carrying).
Second layer: thin/medium fleece or long-sleeve t-shirt.
Third layer: waterproof and windproof rain jacket with hood.
Cap / Buff or similar for the sun.
Covid-19 safety material
Although some of these garments may not be worn during the itinerary, it is recommended to carry them in the backpack throughout the trip and ready to be used in case of weather changes or unforeseen events to avoid hypothermia in case of weather changes or incidents that prolong the day.
MINIMUM CONTENT OF THE BACKPACK
Mountain backpack of 20-30 liters depending on the duration of the route, with its waterproof cover.
Personal first aid kit with special medications if required. (If you suffer from any pathology, illness, or injury, you should inform the guide of the corresponding route about it).
Water (minimum 2 liters)
Food (depending on the duration of the route).
Sunscreen, cap/hat and sunglasses.
Documentation and charged phone.
We recommend always carrying poles in the backpack for use if needed.
