Book recommendations for this region:
Equipment
MANDATORY MOUNTAIN FOOTWEAR (boot or shoe with specific Mountain sole)
In each stage, and depending on terrain conditions and/or weather forecast, the recommended type of height of the shoe shaft (boot or shoe) will be advised.
CLOTHING
As the routes pass through a medium and high mountain environment, and given that the climate can change rapidly and drastically, we RECOMMEND, regardless of the difficulty of the route, the following items:
Long pants. If the characteristics of the route along with the expected weather allow the use of shorts, a piece to cover the rest of the leg that remains uncovered will be carried, either by carrying a second pair of pants or long leggings in the backpack in all cases.
First layer: breathable short-sleeve T-shirt with quick drying (tank tops are not recommended as they are not suitable with carrying backpacks).
Second layer: light/medium fleece or long-sleeve T-shirt.
Third layer: waterproof and windproof rain jacket with hood.
Cap / Buff or similar for the sun.
Although some of these garments may not be used during the itinerary, it is recommended to carry them in the backpack throughout the journey and be ready to use them in case of weather changes or unforeseen events, thus avoiding hypothermia in case of weather changes or incidents that extend the day.
MINIMUM CONTENT OF THE BACKPACK
Mountain backpack of 20-30 liters depending on the duration of the route, with its rain cover.
Personal first aid kit with special medications if required. (In case of suffering from any condition, illness, or injury, the route guide should be informed accordingly)
Water (minimum 2 liters)
Food (according to duration of the route).
Sunscreen, cap/hat, and sunglasses.
Documentation and fully charged phone.
We recommend always carrying trekking poles in the backpack for use if needed.
