At the end, you can visit the Mazobre waterfall; a marked trail—the Senda de la Cascada de Mazobre—leads there. Afterward, you hike back to the parking lot along a road—a perfect loop hike.

Track types
Safety information
In Spain, people follow the tracks left by crampons to hike in the mountains year-round. Accordingly, this hike is likely possible year-round, but requires appropriate gear. There are hardly any trail markers; there are numerous cairns, but they come in various forms.
Tips and suggestions
It can get hot in the summer.Roadbook
The descent first follows the trail back to the saddle; from there, keep left and traverse into the gorge. Here, too, there are a few somewhat more challenging sections—gravel on worn-down rock with a risk of rockfall from climbers behind you. If you follow the cairns to the left after the gorge widens, the trail isn’t quite as steep or gravelly; you’ll then cross back onto the main trail and can enjoy a bit more of the gravel path. From here, take one of several routes back to the marked trail; you can then either head toward the waterfall or follow the dusty road back to the parking lot.
Directions
Pass through Guardo and Velilla del Río Carríon on the way to Cardaño de Abajo, then follow the small road to Cardaño de Arriba and continue to the large parking lot at the Senda de la Cascada de Mazobre.Parking

Equipment
Make sure to bring plenty to drink, especially in the summer; a helmet might be a good idea (flying rocks!). Climbing gear isn't absolutely necessary, only for less experienced climbers.Localization
