This stage is one of the most representative of the route, as we return to the Valle de Aran, just as the former inhabitants did until the Vielha Tunnel was built in 1949. Along the way, there are remains from the time when the path was paved to allow passage with horses and goods over the pass. There are also bunkers from the Spanish Civil War, which remind us of the importance of the mountain pass. From the Port de Vielha pass at 2,442 m, you can ascend to the Tuc deth Port de Vielha at 2,605 m and enjoy a magnificent view of the entire Aneto massif and Las Maladetas. A long descent leads down to the starting point of the route: Vielha with its marketplace.
