The boulder and rock path
Thanks to the Stecknersteig, an easy summit; you don’t have to be a glacier hiker to climb the Eisseespitze.
From the end of the Sulden valley (1900 m) first take the two-part cable car up to the mountain station (2600 m; the Schaubach hut is slightly lower). From there, go briefly southwards on a wide service road and then on a footpath a few steps to the left to a fork (right leads to Eisseepass); now follow the signpost "Stecknersteig" and the green dot marking along the mostly relatively well-defined footpath over scree, boulders, and rocky sections in many switchbacks on the northwest ridge of the Eisseespitze up to the rocky northeast ridge and then briefly and without difficulty up to the summit cairn (3230 m; in some publications also 3243 m); – descent: via the ascent route, 1:30 hrs.
