The strenuous summit route rewards with a magnificent panoramic view over the Tennengebirge plateau, Dachstein massif, Tauern, and Hochkönig. The route is also suitable for dogs.
The route first leads over a pasture into the forest, steeply up to the Heinrich Hackel Hut. Still steeply it continues through dwarf pines up to Tauernscharte. Those who want can take a short detour up to Tauernkogel here. Towards Eiskogel, we finally walk through flatter alpine meadows to the ascent to the summit. Up top, a unique panorama awaits us.
