We ascend from Egg first via a forest road and then on a decent path increasingly steep to the Bortigscharte (2089 m). Here the paths branch off to Bschlabser Kreuzspitze, Fallerschein, and Bschlabs. We climb northwards over an intermediate rise (2174 m) which is secured with a chain at a steep section, to a notch (2153 m) and then steeply uphill over a chain-secured rocky passage to the summit completely covered with grass at 2311 m.
Further southeast to the saddle at 2043 m. On the partially poorly marked and in some places eroded Anhalter Höhenweg to the Putzenjoch at 2050 m. On a T 2 trail, we circumnavigate the Ortkopf until a steep path on the southwest side leads up to the summit on the right. The Ortkopf or Bschlaber Kogl is at 2314 m. Panoramic view and Lechtal cinema guaranteed. Alternatively, a pathless ascent (T 6 and rock II) from the saddle is possible only for very experienced alpine climbers, descending via the described trail on the southwest side. Return on the path past the Orttenne, a small hunting lodge, back to the starting point at Egg.
