Roadbook
Start at the car park "Knutten", follow the marking 8A, passing the "Ebnerhof".
Continue on the farm access road, shortly before the "Archner" farm the path 8A branches off to the left into the forest.
Follow the signs through slightly ascending forest first to the "Lower Kofleralm", then to the "Upper Kofleralm". From there follow the signposting "Kofler lakes". At the Upper Kofler lake turn right, continue on marking 9A or 9B to the Bärenluegscharte. Now over scree - usually over a snowfield in spring - keeping to the right slope - follow the cairns and the subtle red-white markings up to the summit.
Descent on the ascent path back to the foot of the mountain, then turn right and hike via path 9A to the Klammljoch.
Return via the Knutten valley to the starting point.

Directions
Coming from Brenner via the A22 motorway, exit Brixen, follow the state road SS49 through the Pustertal, at Bruneck take the Tauferer/Ahrntal turnoff, drive to Sand in Taufers and there turn off onto the state road to Rein in Taufers.
Coming from Lienz via the state road SS49 to Bruneck, then observe further signs to Sand in Taufers, Rein in Taufers.
