Dellach-Goldberg-Jaukenhütte-Jukbichl-Gailberghöhe
From the Geopark in Dellach, we hike on the south side of the Gailtal Alps up to the Jaukenhütte, go south of the Jaukenstöckel west to the Jukbichl and then down to the Gailbergsattel.
We hike from the town center of Dellach with the Geopark and visitor center northwards and up to the south side of the Gailtaler Alps. With frequent alternation between hiking trails and main farm tracks (HWW), we reach, via Rüben, Goldberg, and Kreuztratten, the long-distance trails: Julius-Kugy-Dreiländerweg and Gailtaler Höhenweg 229 at the managed Jaukenalm hut. We turn west, follow the Roman trail with a magnificent view past the Jauken massif including Jaukenhöhe and Jaukenstöckl to the south, pass the Plonalm and Dellacher Alm, and reach the viewing mountain Jukbichl/-bühel with a gentle ascent. Over Ochsen and Marktalm, we hike on a natural trail and east of Hocheck continuously down to the unmanaged Mitterkeilhütte. Main farm tracks bring us down to the federal road B 110 – we turn left and finish at Gh. Die Gailberghöhe the connection E 26b to the Julius-Kugy-Dreiländerweg.

DETAILED ROUTE DESCRIPTION:
1. We hike from the B 111 and the town center of Dellach (672 m) past the Geopark visitor center and follow trail no. 232 along the Dellacher Bach to the north and west past the hill graves – after about 950 m we leave the farm track (WW) with many wooden bridges and hike a steep path up to Rüben. We turn left, west towards the property, then immediately leave the main farm track half-right – through meadows and forest sections we reach the village of Goldberg and take the 1st break, 2.4 km, 1,101 m at the filial church Hl. Maria.
ALTERNATIVE 1: We start the linear route in the neighboring village of St. Daniel, municipality Dellach, and hike via trail no. 231 and later 230 over Unter- and Oberstollwitz to Plonalm (savings: 0.5 km, ½ hour, 300 m elevation).
ALTERNATIVE 2: We start the linear route coordinated with the opening hours of the Geopark (weekdays from 10 am, T: 04718 30133) and visit the museum.
2. On the way to Jaukenalm, we leave the main farm track several times and repeatedly choose steep shortcuts via trail no. 232 (Torkofel) – we take the 2nd and 3rd break at the main farm track at SH 1 370 m, 3.7 km, and SH 1 590 m, 4.8 km respectively. On the last 100 m, we walk on the main farm track and approach the Jaukenalm hut for the 4th break, 5.8 km, 1,180 m.
3. Up to Gailbergsattel, the two long-distance trails Julius-Kugy-Dreiländerweg and Gailtaler Höhenweg 229 accompany us – we turn left, west from the hut and walk over gentle alpine pasture, first level then steeply upwards to Römerweg. The hiking trail leads us south of the Jaukenhöhe past a ruined mine – southwest of Jaukenstöckl at a "summit cross" and a beautiful viewpoint, we take the 5th break, 8.3 km, 1,919 m.
4. On a main farm track, we walk about 400 m west, then descend steeply on a partly faint path to the Plonalm junction. At this hiking crossroads, we choose the main farm track to Dellacher Alm and reach it after about 1 km. After about 900 m, at a fork southwest of Kaserlahnkopf, we go straight, and after 1 km, after a slight climb, we choose the path up to Jukbichl at the hiking crossroads and take the 6th break, 12.6 km, 1,889 m at the summit cross and information board.
ALTERNATIVE 3: At the hiking crossroads, we turn right and circumvent Jukbichl on the northeast side (savings: approx. 10 minutes).
5. We leave the viewpoint heading northwest and descend to the main farm track, which leads us in a right curve to Ochsenalm (from here trail 4 S joins). After the small shrine, a path leads down to a secondary main farm track, which we follow about 400 m to the right, northwest.
6. We leave the path on a hiking trail half-right, pass a ruined hut after about 100 m on Marktalm, and reach a main farm track east of Hocheck after about 2.1 km at the Mitterkeilhütte, where we take the 7th break, 16.9 km, 1,300 m.
7. We continue downhill along the main farm track, at a fork after about 700 m turn half-right, and leave the main farm track sharply after about 900 m heading southwest. We cross the Schindelgraben and meet the B 110 road after about 1.2 km – we turn left, south, and finish the connection E 26b to the Julius-Kugy-Dreiländerweg at Gh. Die Gailberghöhe (20.1 km, 971 m).
