Croz dell' Altissimo

Start at the mountain station; at Rifugio Montanare, there is a first beautiful view of the Brenta massif. After a small right turn, we continue following the signpost to Croz dell'Altissimo. Always steadily uphill in switchbacks through the forest until you reach a bright crossroads from which several paths branch off. Here we continue following the signpost towards our summit, which first leads us through sparse forest and dwarf pines and increasingly rugged terrain over the Palon di Tovre with easy ups and downs. The terrain now becomes somewhat rockier, so sometimes you need to use your hands. There are always wonderful views of the summit. The dwarf pines accompany us up to Passo dei Camosci; after that, you enter an open rocky and grassy area where you can continue quickly uphill. We reach the junction where the path to Passo dei Lasteri branches off to the right, and we first turn left, continuing towards Croz dell' Altissimo. You see two summit crosses ahead; we aim for the left one. After actually another 15 minutes (as the signpost promised), we finally reach the longed-for summit with the best views and panorama, a slightly exposed path, and very easy climbing over rock blocks. After a short time, we start the return journey via Passo dei Lasteri down to Rifugio Croz dell'Altissimo, which we reach after a short 30 minutes. We continue following the well-visible red-white trail markings along the slope below Cima dei Lasteri. (summit tip) We carefully descend scree on the very steep slope. Further down you can already see Passo del Clamer. The path now is only scree/rocky, sometimes somewhat exposed, sometimes steep, sometimes flatter, but always clearly visible and steadily descending into the valley towards Rifugio Croz dell'Altissimo. We cross the riverbeds leading down into the valley several times. The Rifugio lies a little to the left, around the mountain flank, surrounded by the beautiful and mighty steep walls. After a refreshment, we pass the Rifugio and now stroll back towards Pradel.
