Safety information
The route leads through high alpine terrain, sudden weather changes must be expected. Since there are no dining options, it is recommended to bring enough fluids. In bad weather (rain, snow, fog, storm), it is advisable to avoid the path via the Windach valley and the Gaiskar despite the longer distance.
Especially in early summer, the streams carry a lot of water. Snowfields at steep spots have not yet melted.
The path requires increased concentration and attention at Gamsplatzl on the Siegerland Hut side.

Roadbook
From the Siegerland Hut, the destination Hildesheimer Hut is always well signposted and the path marked. The shorter and more interesting route leads via the viewpoint Gamsplatzl (3026 meters). Behind the Siegerland Hut, the path first goes over rocks through the brook, then along the east side of the Scheiblehnwand on a well-walkable path with little incline and good views through the inner Windach valley past the Triebenkar Lake. Depending on the season, streams must be crossed in between. Especially until mid-July, the bridges are not always installed because of meltwater, so crossing the Triebenkarlas brook sometimes requires increased concentration. From the lake, the path increasingly climbs in zigzags at the foot of the Gaiskarkogel. The path becomes difficult and very steep just before Gamsplatzl, and one must absolutely expect loosened terrain parts and poor path conditions. Due to the risk of slipping and falling, care should be taken that no stones roll down from above. Upon arrival at Gamsplatzl, the panoramic view into the Windach valley, onto the surrounding glaciers of the Stubai Glacier and the Sölden ski area is impressive.
Over steep blockwork, partly on secured paths with easy climbing sections, the path descends until it transitions into the mountain ridge at Gaiskar. Small streams sometimes have to be crossed in between. Especially in early summer, larger and smaller snowfields are often present (caution for slipping when crossing). Before ascending another 150 meters to the Hildesheimer Hut, the glacier brook must be crossed over the new aluminum bridge.
