    Author’s recommendation

As a multi-day route, it is very nice to continue hiking to the New Regensburger Hut the next day.

    Roadbook

From the Hildesheimer Hut, follow path No. 102 northwards, passing a small mountain lake. The path soon becomes a steep trail and makes a distinctive left turn at a steep section. Then it flattens out again, following the lateral moraine of the Gaiskarferner glacier, which you reach at about 3050 m altitude.

The glacier then only gently rises and can be easily crossed northwestwards to the glacier restaurant Jochdohle thanks to orientation aids. From there, continue north on a marked and secured glacier path to the Eisjoch and then descend to the Eisgrat station of the Stubai Glacier ski area.

Back in the rocky and scree area, the path (still No. 102) continues northwards down to the Gamsgarten station, which you leave to the left. The path turns northeast and eventually descends to path 135 (the connecting path between Dresdner Hut and Regensburger Hut), which you follow to the right towards the Dresdner Hut.
