Quiet and charming route in a remote high valley

The path begins at the bridge with marking 222 or Dolomites High Route No. 3 and follows the stream upstream. Several times you have to detour right into the dwarf pine fields because the path along the stream was destroyed by flooding. This leads up into the large high pasture valley (2076 m). In addition to the classic trail markings, there are also several orange-yellow dots on stones and in the stream bed. At the noticeable left bend of the path (2180 m) you go straight ahead off-path in the valley below the rock band to the then visible short path. Sporadically, cairns and footsteps indicate the way. We reach a talus field of a rockfall. Passing on its left edge leads to the saddle at the foot of Corno d’Angolo. Then up left along the cairns and in easy climbing to the summit of Corno d’Angolo (2430 m). Descending goes back to the aforementioned noticeable left bend of the path. Following marking 222, it takes a few minutes to reach Forcella di Popena (2214 m). Abandoned ruins of
