Trattoria Genzianella.Roadbook
We hike from the Trattoria Genzianella to the right up the paved road to the first hairpin bend (parking available) and follow the road through an S-curve to the marked junction uphill. Here we head north into the forest to a gravel road, which we follow to the right. The following steep cart track soon turns into a wide hiking trail that leads up in wide hairpin bends to the Passo della Cavada. A short descent into the saddle. We follow the signpost "Corna di Caspai - solo per esperti" westwards past a birdcatcher station to the steep east ridge. A large rock tower (east summit) is bypassed on the north side; through a rock gate we reach the very steep, grassy south flank. Exposed, we hike to the rocky south drop and turn right into a very steep grassy gully, which we follow in tight switchbacks to the summit-near east ridge. Over a few ridge blocks, the golden summit cross of Corna di Caspai is quickly reached.
Descent along the ascent route. From the Passo della Cavada, there is also a steep shortcut "per esperti" through the gorge down to the initial cart track.
