Circular tour Monte Giove and Monte Faierone
We start from Cannobio along the main road to the end of the town towards Brissago. Keeping left, an old stone mule track leads to St. Agatha, crossing the paved road several times.
In Campeglio turn left until entering the village of St. Agatha with a noteworthy church. For refreshments, there is a bar and a restaurant with opening hours depending on the season. Through the village, continue steeply uphill and through the forest to a small chapel. Left further and at the fork, turn right steeply through the forest to the small hamlet Marcalone. Refreshments depending on the season possible. Then a wide partially paved forest service road leads just below the summit of Monte Giove, the local mountain of Cannobio, with a fantastic view. Descend into the saddle and continue to Scierz and very sunny on the ridge of Monte Faierone. At the summit, keep right and take the descent to L Agher which leads steeply partly wooded to the hamlet. Then continue down to the edge of the forest and through it to a cross path. Right to the church Sant Montibus. Continue to Cinzago and take the descent to Lignago, a district of Cannobio.
