With the goats, ponies and rabbits, the Hefteralm is a true paradise for families with children and a insider tip for the best Kaiserschmarrn.
The route starts in Grassau and leads from the Kucheln district via Strehtrumpf to the Hefteralm (1020 m). Especially families with children enjoy themselves on the alp, as in summer cows, goats, ponies (often with offspring!) graze here and there are rabbits and chickens to admire. The friendly alpine hosts spoil guests with homemade cheese, bread and Kaiserschmarrn.
Those who still have the stamina to continue hiking after the break follow almost flat paths to the Rachlalm (920 m), where there is another rustic place to refresh with typical alpine snacks. From there, the route goes via the Torgraben and Zeppelin height back into the valley. At the memorial stone honoring the aviation pioneer, there is a beautiful view over the Achten valley all the way to Chiemsee. The return route from Strehtrumpf to Grassau can be taken either via the path or the paved road.
