Cima Palon 1915m crossing

On the access road in a left bend to the intersection in Mont dei Mori. We turn right and follow the freight road to the chapel of Monte Zanetto. In front of it on a drawn path in a wide S-loop to the Sentiero dei Camosci, which softly climbs the forested mountain slope to the north. We ignore the signpost "Cima Alta" (the path later merges back into our trail) and continue straight. At the next fork, turn left and in a few bends climb to the northern ridge, where a short erosion gully has to be descended. Now we briefly ascend northwards around a rugged rock tower on the left into the saddle before La Rocchetta. On path 617 up to the summit point. Exactly here, a very narrow mountain pine path branches off to the left, which we follow. After a few meters, the terrain opens up. The unadorned peak of La Rocchetta can be reached quickly without climbing over the crumbly and rocky short eastern slope. Back to the saddle. The first ascent on the north ridge of Palon is quite steep, the mountain pine paths are sandy, rocky, and rooty. Short rock steps are avoided; a ridge elevation is lightly exposed and bypassed on the left. Otherwise, the path winds easily over the rolling northern ridge steps up to the Palon Virgin martyr shrine. The highest point of Palon with summit pole lies a few meters to the north.

Now we hike southwards along the broad ridge downwards. According to the maps, the first gentle elevation is the unadorned Cima Alta. After it, the path descends more steeply towards La Bassa Madonnina, whereby shortly before this the mild ridge elevation Cima Bassa is crossed. In the saddle, we turn completely left (not onto path 623). The partially exposed trail overcomes a steep slope in several bends. A rock band is crossed in suspension while going down. At the Sentiero dei Serbi, a long scree field is crossed, then the path descends into the forest in several bends. The trail leads to a drawn path before Mont dei Mori.
