Cima Levante crossing
Our route leads us into the Valle dei Ronchi, a bit east of Lake Garda. Deeply cut, the valley stretches from the village of Ala towards the Carega group. This mountain massif is separated from the Monti Lessini. The Valle dei Ronchi is characterized by steep, almost impassable forest slopes and viticulture. Wine is cultivated on the sunny side of the valley up to an altitude of 900 m. In the past, forges operated at the valley exit using water power. The valley interior is very sparsely populated; only the villages of Murravalle and Ronchi remain. An old military path leads above the agricultural areas to the rock faces of the Carega group. Some old tunnels can still be found below the Cima Levante. Our route is rarely traveled by mountaineers, so you can enjoy the mountain world all to yourself. Of course, you need a certain level of fitness, surefootedness, and freedom from dizziness. The route climbs very steeply and is quite demanding but does not present any major difficulties.
