From Cima Lac, there is a spectacular view of the nearby Val di Bresimo, Val di Sole with the northern side of the Brenta Dolomites, Val di Rabbi, the Maddalene, and further east, the Lagorai, the Dolomites with Catinaccio and its "queen", the Marmolada.

    Safety information

To undertake a mountain hike, we suggest you:

    • choose a route suitable for your preparation. If in doubt, contact the Alpine Guides or our Information Offices
    • prepare your hike: check the weather forecast, the route you will follow, and the operating hours of lifts if your itinerary includes their use. Remember that the passability of routes in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, get good information about the route and its conditions before leaving
    • leave information about your route, approximate return time and bring your mobile phone with you
    • pay attention to the signs and markings you find on the route: Stelvio Park signs, SAT white and red signs, and red and white marks on stones or trees
    • book in advance the hut or refuge where you intend to stop to eat or sleep
    • never leave waste at altitude and, if possible, avoid leaving it near the refuges or mountain huts you will visit
    • if you spot wild animals along the route, we invite you to stay on the path you are walking, do not get too close, do not shout, and keep your dog on a leash to avoid it instinctively chasing and frightening them

    Roadbook

Starting from the village of Pracorno in Val di Rabbi, take the paved road towards Ingenga and follow it until you reach the locality of Masi di Zora (1,404 m). After about 200 meters, you can find a large parking area where you can leave your car. Take the dirt road with signs for "Malga Mondent" which, after about 20 minutes and some hairpin bends keeping to the left, reaches Malga Mondent Bassa and subsequently Malga Mondent Alta at an altitude of 1,913 m. From here, you can admire Val di Rabbi and the northern part of the Brenta Dolomites Group such as Monte Peller and Sasso Rosso. From Malga Alta, follow the uphill path with signs to "Malga Cortinga Alta" and "Pass de l'Om" until you reach the hut (2,059 m), taking about 30 minutes. Here you can admire high mountain flowers such as gentians.

Then follow the SAT 117 path to "Pas de L'Om" which climbs rather steeply; you reach the pass (2,331 m) in 1 hour and 10 minutes from Malga Cortinga. From here, you can admire the Val di Bresimo area. From the pass, follow path SAT 133 B towards Cima Vese along the ridge with some ups and downs until the beginning of the ridge that rises towards Cima Lac. Then leave the SAT 133 B path to the right and follow the wide grassy ridge to the summit (marked with some stone cairns).
