Beautiful route with breathtaking views and an unprecedented view of the Brenta, the peaks of the Adamello, Presanella, Carè Alto, and the valleys below.
The medium difficulty route, doable in half a day, winds on the slopes of Mount Durmont extending into the wild Val di Manez. The route, if done clockwise, starts with an uphill stretch in the conifer forest that gently leads from the parking next to Capanna Durmont to the "Dotor" locality. A stop is mandatory to admire the panorama opening onto the mountains of Tione and the summit of Carè Alto. The route then leads to "Stavel" locality, a green clearing where it is possible to rest before taking the uphill path that climbs through the forest until reaching the summit cross of Cima Durmont. From here a second very panoramic path section, initially flat and then descending, leads to the "Campiol" locality where it is possible to take a break on a comfortable bench in the middle of a basin. The trail then continues downward to the junction where you take the path to "Stablei" returning, thanks to a flat stretch in the woods, to the farmsteads of "Pramarciù". From here take the outbound path until reaching Capanna Durmont.
Author’s recommendation
Medium difficulty walk, highly appreciated for the fantastic panorama ranging from Carè Alto to Presanella to the Brenta Dolomites. The summit, located at the southwestern end of the Brenta Group, is reachable by a path almost entirely through the forest, which in the last stretch is a bit uneven and rather exposed. It is worth undertaking the route in spring or autumn when the forest is dyed in a thousand colors.
It is recommended to bring water and, given the length and exposure of the route, to start early in the morning.

Safety information
The path, particularly exposed in some sections, may disturb those who suffer from vertigo.
There is no possibility to drink or find refreshment during the route.
In the first and last stretch of the path, which are particularly shady because of their location in the forest, there may be sections with snow and ice in early spring.
As you can imagine, the feasibility of trails in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before setting off, check the condition of the route by contacting the refuge management along your trail, alpine guides, natural park visitor centers, and tourist offices.
Tips and suggestions
Pay attention in spring as there may be remaining snow and ice.
The last stretch to the summit, being exposed and on uneven terrain, requires caution and appropriate footwear.

Roadbook
After passing a picnic area, turn right, take the path that crosses the forest, and reach the forest road that rises from "Binio" to the "Dotor" locality.
Follow this until the farmsteads of "Pramarciù" and continue always uphill, now steeper, until you reach the "Stavel" locality.
A little above, turn right again on the path that gradually leaves the tall tree vegetation on the slopes of the southern ridge of the summit. Continue climbing the path until you pass the Summit Cross thus reaching the "Cima Durmont".
Continue on the ridge towards the north, progressively descending in altitude until the "Passo Campiol"; from here, on the right ("Val Manez" side), take the track that shortly becomes a forest road.
Descend along this avoiding a right fork until reaching the "Stablei" locality; pass a hairpin bend and head towards the "Manez" locality.
Cross the pastures and at their edge keep to the right, always on road, to complete the traverse of the slope in reverse until returning to the "Dotor" locality and then to the "Passo Daone", where you started.
