Cima del Lago

Follow the road on the valley floor in a northerly direction until you reach Pian delle Lede (1393 m), where you turn left onto trail 711 (signposted). Go straight up through the dense woods and then continue left until you reach the junction with the Alta Via n. 2 (1610 m). The path now climbs steeply up to the foot of the cliffs, with the vertical walls of Pala Cristoforo as the eye catches the view. The path continues steeply until it reaches open ground, and after climbing over some ledges and rocks, the wild and impressive Vallone delle Lede opens up. A few hairpin bends lead up to the terrace where the bivouac Bivacco Manauio (2250 m) is located. From this fantastic balcony you can see the Sasso delle Lede, the Cima Canali, the Cima Wilma and the Sass d'Ortiga.
