Rifugio Sonino al Coldai: http://www.caiveneto.it/rifugio.asp?rif=38Roadbook
We start in Pecol and follow the signposts to Rifugio Coldai. A hollow path leads us to the steep piste meadow, which we follow upwards for a while. We cross the piste and enter the forest. The shady path leads with a pleasant incline to the flat forest road (piste) that leads to Casera di Pioda. Behind the alpine pasture, we turn left onto the cart track. You can walk the wide switchbacks of the path or use the numerous shortcuts (partially marked). After an area of boulder blocks, we hike along a rock face into the scree cirque, over which we reach Rifugio Sonino al Coldai in several bends.
Briefly, we follow the wide hiking trail to Forcella Coldai. A wooden signpost "Cima Coldai" points to the right up a cart track. We follow this path, which in a few bends goes through a bizarre rocky ridge to the left into the grassy cirque below the summit. Clear trail marks, sparse faint markings, and cairns guide to the base of the summit rock at a memorial Madonna. The east-facing summit flank is climbed unsecured over a crumbly rock slab (slippery, steep terrain and scrambling up to grade I). A short, stepped block gully leads left to the spacious Cima Coldai with two old metal crosses.
Descent along the ascent route. From the summit, we also saw markings down the very crumbly grassy cliff flank southwards to Lago Coldai. Both from above and later from below, this steep, sandy path did not seem to us a better alternative.
