Book recommendations for this region:
Equipment
MOUNTAIN FOOTWEAR IS MANDATORY (boot or shoe with specific Mountain sole)
In each stage, depending on the condition of the terrain and/or weather forecast, the recommended type of boot height (boot or shoe) will be indicated.
CLOTHING
As the routes run through mid and high mountain environments, and it is a territory where the climate can change quickly and drastically, we RECOMMEND the following items regardless of the route difficulty:
Long pants. If the route characteristics and expected weather allow the use of shorts, carry a piece to cover the rest of the exposed leg, either a second pair of pants or long tights in the backpack at all times.
Base layer: breathable, quick-drying short-sleeve t-shirt (tank tops are not recommended as they are not suitable when carrying backpacks).
Second layer: thin/medium fleece or long-sleeve t-shirt.
Third layer: waterproof and windproof rain jacket with hood.
Cap / Buff or similar for sun protection.
Although some of these garments might not be used during the itinerary, it is recommended to carry them in the backpack throughout the journey and keep them ready to use in case of sudden weather changes or unexpected events, thus avoiding hypothermia in case of weather change or an incident lengthening the day.
MINIMUM CONTENT OF THE BACKPACK
Mountain backpack of 20-30 liters depending on the route duration, with its waterproof cover.
Personal first aid kit with special medications if required. (If you suffer from any pathology, illness, or injury, you should inform the route guide accordingly.)
Water (minimum 2 liters)
Food (depending on the route duration).
Sunscreen, hat/sun visor, and sunglasses.
Documents and charged mobile phone.
We always recommend carrying poles in the backpack to use if needed.
