The rock faces of Arzalpenkopf and Sextner Rotwand impressively dominate this hiking area
Directly at the pass, to the right of the mountain meadows, the ascent begins with trail marker 15 and leads to the vicinity of the mountain station. Sparse mixed forest and Swiss pine fields accompany you to the Weißbach and to the karst landscape at the foot of the Sextner Rotwand. At about 2050 m, trail marker 15B branches off to the left. Follow this over several switchbacks up to the summit of Burgstall at 2168 m, where you can already enjoy a view down to the beautiful Rotwand meadows. Descent: West of the summit, the descent follows a steep scree gully. Shortly before reaching the Rotwand meadows, you meet trail marker 15 again. The return route from the Rotwand meadows follows trail no. 18 and leads back to the starting point at Kreuzberg Pass.
