Equipment
For a difficult or multi-day route, you should have the following equipment with you:
Good and sensible footwear
Large backpack (30-60l)
Enough provisions: drinks, preferably water in refillable bottles, several meals and snacks such as energy bars for in between, also think of a small plastic bag for waste!
Proper hiking clothing, jacket, spare and change of clothes, rain gear (check weather forecast!)
Sun protection: sunscreen, sunglasses and headgear
Mobile phone (charged!) with emergency app, ID, possibly alpine club membership card and cash for huts
First aid kit, blister plasters and tissues
Hiking poles
Hut sleeping bag
Personal hygiene, toilet paper and towel
Headlamp
Earplugs
