In early summer 2019, a new hut route to the Capanna Sasc-Furä was developed. The new route is a bit longer and more demanding than the old one, but well secured at exposed sections. The old hut route is closed.

The alpinist adventures at Piz Badile have drawn climbers of all nationalities to the Val Bondasca. Today, people meet on summer evenings in the cozy rooms of the Sasc Furä hut to set off the next morning for one of the many climbing routes on Badile or Cengalo.

The hike to the hut itself is also a worthwhile destination. The path follows old trail markings on the western side of the Val Trubinasca and meets at its highest point the path from the Trubinasca Pass to the Sasc Furä hut. The old hut route via Val Bondasca has been impassable and closed since the rockfall at Cengalo!

On a small ridge extension, the Sasc Furä ridge facing the unmistakable Badile north face, there is an excellent view and you can watch climbers on their various ascents. The mountain hut also serves as a base for the route over the Passo della Trubinasca.

    Safety information

Mountain hiking trail with medium to high difficulty.
The upper section of the path is marked white-blue and requires experience and sure-footedness.

    Roadbook

The starting point is the church San Martino in Bondo. The first part of the route follows the gravel road leading to the Ceresc and Cugian alp farms. After about 1 km, another forest road crosses, which we follow towards Val Bondasca.

Instead of crossing the bridge at Punt Marlun, we follow the mountain path that ascends to the right. The steep, well-marked path leads up to Alp Cugian. We continue on the path and at the fork near Alp Luvartigh, we keep left. From here, the trail becomes somewhat more demanding. It circumnavigates Salecina and crosses several small valleys with many ups and downs. At Valun della Turbinasca, the route goes over a scree slope and further upwards, until we meet at the highest point the trail from Turbinasca Pass. From here continue left to the clearly visible Sasc-Furä hut.
