From the parking lot at the entrance of the village, we will take the path towards the Mascún Camping, passing the Hermitage of San Lorenzo and heading to the SE with a steep slope, towards the Fuente de Estibiancha, which we will reach after passing some crossroads with tracks.
From the spring, we will follow the trail that climbs the Bachiellas ravine until reaching the path that runs along the ridge of the Sierra de Balced (Cordel de Juncos).
We will continue along the ridge heading N, going around the Peña de San Martín to the E (San Martín pass), until arriving by a not very defined and camouflaged trail among the underbrush, at the Collada de Balced, close to a track visible to the West. We will follow the ridge, leaving Tozales de Larizora and Paco Tiesto on the right, until reaching Cerro de Forcas (1,542 m altitude), after passing next to the Neveras de Baqueste. From here, we will continue along the ridge until reaching a track, at the head of the Los Fornazos ravine, which we will follow SW and then take a trail to the right that runs parallel along the upper part of the ravine, gradually separating from it in the direction of Peña Picarda, which we will go around to the North.
A viewpoint over the Mascún is reached. We continue the trail towards the La Virgen ravine, leaving to the right the detour to the Hermitage of the Virgen del Castillo, cross the ravine and continue on the Cheto path to Rodellar.
