From Vordergnadenalm head east to Tauernkarleitenalm, from there continue to Stubhöhe 1739 m (the power line indicates the direction). From here southwards, take the steeper path to the saddle between Bärenstaffl and Steinfeldspitze. From there turn left to Bärenstaffl (5 min). Return to the saddle and then proceed towards Steinfeldspitze (do not shortcut). Shortly afterwards the path branches left downhill to Hafeichtscharte 1838 m. The ascent to the crossless Spatzeck is clearly visible. From here a beautiful ridge hike leads to Spirzinger. Now follows the descent to Südwiener Hütte, which is visible from afar and where you can take a well-deserved break.
From here return to Vordergnadenalm.
