From the Rofenhöfe, follow a forest road (trail no. 902), which gently ascends through meadow terrain toward the west until just before the material cableway to the Vernagthütte. At the signpost "Vernagthütte" turn right, and now the path ascends more steeply to the northwest, partly in switchbacks, crossing two mountain streams.
The path then flattens and leads southwest onto the Platteiberg, where the route turns right and continues northwest above the Vernagtbach. Finally, you reach the Vernagtbach and cross it on a wooden bridge. Immediately afterwards, the path ascends diagonally southward into the basin below the Guslarferner glacier. At the two following trail junctions keep right and finally reach the Vernagthütte via two short terrain steps heading northwest.
