First, take the cable cars up to the Eisgrat station. Here begins a marked and secured glacier path leading south to the Eisjoch (also called Bildstöckljoch), from where it continues east to the glacier restaurant Jochdohle.
During the subsequent gentle descent over the Gaiskarferner, orientation aids make it easier to transition onto its lateral moraine. On this, the path proceeds first flatter and then increasingly steeper towards the east. At a steep section (partly with steel cables), the path (continuing as No. 102) makes a sharp right turn and soon leads flatter again west past a small mountain lake to the beautifully located Hildesheimer Hut.
