From the parking lot in Wildhaus, follow the signs towards Wildhauser Schafberg, Rotsteinpass, Zwinglipass hut.
Upon arriving at the Zwinglipass hut, head towards Rotsteinpass but keep more to the right to reach the foot of the Altmann. Here is the entrance to the Schaffhauser chimney on the right and it begins at the Rässegg saddle.
Enter here and follow the chimney up to just below the summit.
In snow, the chimney is easier than in high summer. In summer, expect and have to overcome a 3b section.
Descent via the normal route and back to Wildhaus on the ascent path.
