The tour starts at the car park below the Sinnesbrunn chapel in Obtarrenz. The forest path leads past the chapel, a mountain guard hut and over the Sinnesgatter gate to the junction. From there, continue left along a path to the Reissenschuhjoch at 2054 metres. From the yoke you reach the Alpleskopf summit at 2258 m after about 200 metres. The eastern descent takes you back to trail no. 625, where you continue to the right to the Sinnesgatter. The rest of the way back leads alternatively via the Gafleinhütte and over smaller lakes in Kohlstatt back to the starting point.
