Mountain route from Antholzer See over the Riepenscharte to the Barmer Hut, then on to the Almerhorn and back to Antholzer See via the Jägerscharte and Staller Sattel.
Trail No. 39 leads from the biathlon centre at Antholzer See (1641 m) directly first through forest, then over rubble and boulders to the Riepenscharte (2764 m). Soon the Barmer Hut (2591 m) is visible on a rise on the left side of the valley. The trail then crosses below the Ohrenspitzen first downhill, then uphill to the Jägerscharte (2875 m), where some short snow drifts must be passed. From the notch, it then goes about 100 metres in altitude up the west ridge to the Almerhorn. The descent initially goes back down to the Jägerscharte and from there towards the Staller Sattel and further to Antholzer See.
